Pakistani talented bowler Shaheen Afridi is about to welcome his first baby with his wife, Ansha Afridi. Ansha is the daughter of famous former cricketer Shahid Afridi.

However, the couple has not disclosed this news themselves. This news came as coach Jason Gillispie of the national team passed a statement about it on some private channel.

Jason is an Australian cricket coach and serves as head coach of the Pakistan men’s team in test cricket. He reportedly stated Shaheen will miss the upcoming Test match against Bangladesh due to the expected childbirth.

According to Jason, Shaheen can miss the Bangladesh Test matches due to the upcoming baby. Hence, they are ready to give him rest if he wishes to stay with his wife during this time.

This statement hints that Shaheen and Ansha Afridi will welcome their first baby soon even just in a few weeks. It is significant to note that Shaheen and Ansha tied the knot at a nikkah ceremony in Zakaria Mosque, Karachi, on February 2023.

However, they had their wedding and valima events in September last year. Several current and former cricket players attended his wedding ceremony on September 19 at a hotel in Karachi.

Babar Azam, Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwer, Sohail Khan, Tanveer Ahmed, and others were present at this ceremony. The valima took place in Islamabad on Septembe 21.

Regarding recent personal development in the life of Shaheen, he is likely to be unavailable for the national team in August 2024. The Green Shirts will play a two-match series against Bangladesh from August 21-September 3.

Moreover, Shaheen has recently become the center of attraction for another reason. He has faced allegations of misbehaving with the management team and coaches.

Sources claim that the bowler got into a dispute with Mohammad Yusuf, Pakistan’s batting coach, just before the T20 World Cup in 2024 while the team was touring England.
