Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament started- All details to know
The All Pakistan 3×3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament started on March 28, 2024, at Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad. The Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) sponsored this tournament.
3×3 basketball refers to making a shot from the three-point line. It is a line drawn on the court away from the basket. When a player makes a shot from this distance, they earn three points for their team.
Ouj E Zahoor is secretary of the Federal Basketball Association. According to Ouj E Zahoor, several basketball clubs and departments from the country are participating in the tournament. The tournament will be held under floodlights (used to brighten outdoor areas).
Ouj E Zahoor stated the Federal Basketball Association and Pakistan Basketball Federation with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board have been at the forefront to develop and promote basketball in Pakistan.
He also said the Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament shows their consistent dedication to creating sports infrastructure. It offers opportunities for players to showcase their abilities.
The tournament will end on March 31, 2024. It will represent the growing talent in three major categories: the Men’s Departmental Tournament, the Club Tournament for Men, and the Women’s Tournament.

Ouj E Zahoor said the Men’s Departmental Tournament will feature strong competition among 12 teams from prestigious departments. These include Wapda, Army, Navy, and Police.
Meanwhile, the Club tournament will be a great event with 48 teams from various cities across Pakistan competing for the top spot. However, the women’s tournament will have 12 teams. It shows increased interest and involvement of women in basketball.
Ouj E Zahoorthe considers the 3×3 Ramadan Cup, more than just a tournament. It is a celebration of basketball and its fast-rising format. This is because 3×3 has gained international fame. The event will significantly increase the sport’s visibility and interest among youth and sports lovers across Pakistan.
