Historic Run Chase of Green Caps
Pakistan set a target of 137 runs to create the stage for this historic victory. Aliya Riaz and Muneeba Ali each scored 32 and 35 runs, respectively, to set down the Kiwis. In response, New Zealand could only make 127 runs at the loss of seven wickets, falling short of the goal and offering the victory to Pakistan.
The match’s final over served as a historic moment. Fatima Sana took on the task of defending the 17 runs. Her outstanding bowling abilities resulted in the loss of three Kiwi wickets, which proved important in Pakistan’s victory. Saadia Iqbal also contributed with two wickets. Georgia Plimmer and Hayley Jensen led the way for New Zealand, scoring 28 and 33 runs, respectively.
The series’ third and final T20 encounter is set to take place on December 9th. This match, while not changing the series outcome, provides an opportunity for Pakistan to further assert their supremacy. In contrast, the New Zealand team will be playing for pride. Whatever the outcome, this series has already written a crucial chapter in the history of women’s cricket.
