Morne Morkel resigned as Pakistan bowling coach
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that Morne Morkel has resigned as Pakistan’s bowling coach. According to a press statement, the former South African fast bowler joined the Pakistan side on a six-month deal in June of this year.
The PCB said that his first task of Morne with the men’s team was a two-match Test series in Sri Lanka. It added that Morkel’s replacement would be announced in due course.

According to a press release, Pakistan’s next assignment is a three-match Test series against Australia. It will take place in Australia from December 14, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
This news comes just days after the elimination of Pakistan from the Cricket World Cup 2023 after failing to make the semi-finals for the second time in a row.
Pakistan lost five of their nine games in the World Cup tournament. The major loss includes a seven-wicket thrashing by India in front of more than 100,000 fans in Ahmedabad. They also suffered their first defeat against Afghanistan.
Cricket fans and former cricketers criticized the unceremonious departure of the Pakistan squad from India. They believe the Pakistan Cricket team should have done much more to improve.
It is important to note that Inzamamul Haq also resigned as the cricket team’s chief selector last month. After media reports alleged he had an interest in the management organization of players registered with the PCB.
We don’t know for sure why Morne Morkel resigned from the PCB. The exact reasons are not confirmed.
