Jasmine Paolini appeared to go with 6-4, 3-1. But in the second set, she had to battle back from a 3-4 disadvantage after she gave up two rounds to receive medical treatment.

Angelique was competing for the first time since Wimbledon 2022 because she gave birth to her daughter Liana in February. Jasmine, who rose from No. 59 to No. 30 last season earned her a nomination for Most Improved Player of 2023. She was able to beat Angelique completely over an exciting one hour and 48 minutes in today’s tennis match.

In the first set, Angelique smashed the line and she was on fire leading by 3-1. She left for Jasmine to win four straight rounds to take a 5-3 lead. Jasmine was unable to serve out the set.
