Irish golfer Rory Mcllroy ended divorce proceedings before US Open
Irish golfer Rory Mcllroy ended legal divorce proceedings with his wife Erica Stoll just before his US Open 2024 tournament. This tournament will start tomorrow at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, North Carolina on June 13, 2024.
According to media reports, the Florida court has dismissed his divorce suit with Erica following his voluntary withdrawal. Rory and Erica have been in a marital relationship for seven years. Hence, the decision of Rory will more likely bring him major relief just before his tournament initiation.
The shocking news came the previous month during the US PGA championship that Rory was filing a divorce case in Florida court in May 2024. However, the entire scenario has changed as the Florida court received documents showing the parties have withdrawn divorce filing.
Meanwhile, Rory also appeared to be in a positive frame of mind during his media talk about the upcoming US Open tournament. However, Rory expressed disappointment upon asking questions regarding this matter.
Rory responded by saying it is regrettable that there have been rumors concerning his personal life. Every gossip in this aspect is pointless. He also said he and Erica had realized in the last few weeks that their best future was as a family.
He also expressed gratitude that they have settled disagreements. They are eager to start over their relationship. Fans of Irish golfer Rory Mcllroy have expressed pleasure that the couple ended divorce proceedings in Florida court.
However, Rory traveled to North Carolina to break his five-year wait to gain victory in the 2024 US Open since 2014. He will be paired with Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler in the first and second rounds of the US Open.
Rory is third best golfer in world golf rankings after Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler. Scottie is the world’s number one while Xander is the world’s number two golfer in international ranking.
