ICC Security head met PCB officials for Champions Trophy 2025

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Security head, Dave Musker, met PCB officials to discuss plans for organizing the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Salman Naseer, presided over this meeting on behalf of Pakistan.

The meeting happened at the National Cricket Academy (NVA) in Lahore to talk about security plans and protocols to ensure the smooth organization of the tournament. Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy 2025 in 2025. 

Salman and other PCB officials, with ICC security head David Musker inspected the current security setup in Lahore. They also had fruitful discussions about potential areas for future improvement in the cricket realm.

ICC security head Dave Musker met PCB officials for his satisfaction regarding security arrangements from the Pakistani side. Cricket has suffered enough in Pakistan due to terrorism for years. However, after decades of struggle with terrorism, Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy 2025.

An ICC pitch consultant, Andy Atkinson, arrived at the National Karachi Stadium earlier this month. He offered his advice to local ground crews who were preparing pitches for the major event, Champions Trophy 2025.

A three-person ICC delegation also examined three locations, including Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. The event will held in February and March 2025. PCB has already given the ICC a draft schedule that includes matches at these three locations.

It will be an eight-team event that will last more than two weeks. However, the PCB has not given exact dates for onward matches. After an eight-year break, the ICC Champions Trophy will be held again in Pakistan. The last time it happened was in 2017 when Pakistan beat India in the final to win.

Pakistan, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, England, and Bangladesh are the teams to play in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, the BCCI vice president, Rajeev Shukla, talked about the Indian team’s trip to Pakistan next year for the Champions Trophy. BCCI refers to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Rajeev said BCCI would send an Indian team to Pakistan based on what the federal government said.
