England Women’s cricket coach used AI to select team for matches
England Women’s Cricket Team coach Jon Lewis said he used AI to select the team for victory in the Ashes series last season. Jon Lewis is a former England cricketer.
When Jon became manager of UP Warriorz team in India’s Women’s Premier League, he first learned about the work of London-based PSi. PSi refers to the collective intelligence of an organization to resolve complex problems.
Jon Lewis uses the PSi to help him make decisions about putting together his teams. PSi also helps him keep the balanced team and match squad selection. PSi system shows expected results based on the formation of each squad.
Jon said he could send different squads to the PSi in London. He thinks they run about 250,000 models for each team. He sends data with all the several ways the game could go. They can put artificial teams up against virtual opponents to get a feel for how those teams might go against each other.
He stated he experienced PSi AI at UP Warriorz. He thought it might be useful for the England Women’s Cricket Team. A people-first approach was still significant to him. Hence, data can give him an objective view of what could happen and what has happened in the past.

Jon believed PSi would help make tough choices about which teams to play and how they should play each other. He also told England’s rugby union coach, Steve Borthwick, how he uses the PSi model.
Hence, England Women’s cricket team coach Jon said he used the PSi Ai model that worked well when his team played against Australia in last year’s Ashes series.
He said there was one selection, particularly last year, one period of the Ashes that they targeted as a team. He stated it while talking about England’s T20 and ODI series against Pakistan at home later this month.
