Columbian footballer Guillermo Denis died during training

Columbian footballer Guillermo Denis Beltran has died at the age of 24 years during a training session with Bolivian team Santa Cruz. Guillermo became ill during the training session and soon collapsed on the ground.

Santa Cruz Football Club revealed in a statement that Columbian footballer Guillermo Denis died from respiratory failure. He was training as normal when he fell.

According to Club director, Adolofo Soria Galvarro, they tried to rehabilitate his health when he died while being transported to a clinic. Colleagues of deceased Guillermo told the media he had nausea before falling.

Afterward, the club’s medical team immediately began efforts to revive him, but they failed. Soon, Doctors summoned an ambulance as they attempted to stabilize him.

The tragic death of Guillermo shocked his teammates and the football community. The football community, especially the Bolivian Football Federation extended their condolences to the family.

The Santa Cruz football team is based in Santa Cruz de Ia Sierra, a city around 850 kilometers east of La Paz, Bolivia. Guillermo joined the team from Rubio Nu in Paraguay last year. He previously began his career at Atletico Nacional at Columbia.

Fernando Costa, head of Bolivian Football Federation, extended his condolences to the departed family. He expressed his support for both the team and the family of Guillermo. He also stated that there would be an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of the youngest Bolivian player.

Guillermo Denis Beltran scored one goal in 21 games for the Santa Cruz team in the Bolivian championship. Guillermo was born on July 4, 1999, in Apartado, Columbia.

Earlier, the youngest teenage footballer Cameron Walsh died in a car crash accident in January 2024. Cameron was a sixteen-year-old emerging football star for the English football team Grimsby Town.

Cameron was traveling along with his father, Dave Walsh when the tragic accident took place. They died instantly at the moment.
