Bruno Fernandes helped Portugal beat Finland in the Euro warm-up
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes performed well, which helped the Portugal team beat Finland in the Euro warm-up. Warm-up matches are practice matches played before a major tournament (Euro 2024) begins. It aims to help players prepare, polish their skills, and enter competitive form.
However, it was a crucial match for Portugal as the Football Champion and team’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, was absent. He took a break before performing his job on the field on June 7, 2024, in preparation for his sixth European Championship (Euro 2024).
Hence, Portugual’s head coach, Roberto Martinez, started a warm-up match with a drastically changed team, and they dominated the game. Portugal defeated Finland by 4-2 with the help of two goals scored by Bruno Fernandes.
In the 17th minute of the game, Portuguese footballer Ruben Dias gave the home team the lead with his goal just before halftime. Diogo Jota added another goal after Francisco Conceico fouled inside the box.
After goals from Diogo Jota and Ruben Dias, Bruno scored the first goal in the early second half of the match. It led Portugal’s team by 3-0.

However, Teemu Pukki from the Finland team scored two goals quickly to get on the field track and gave a tough time to Portugal. Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes scored again to secure the win for Portugal.
Hence, two goals scored by Bruno Fernandes helped Portugal earn a 4-2 friendly victory over Finland in Lisbon. It also got the Portugal football team to a winning start in their Euro 2024 preparations.
Although Portugal will play against Croatia on June 8, 2024, and Ireland next week. It will face the Czech Republic in Group F in Leipzig on June 18, 2024, before the initiation of the Euro 2024 tournament.
