Boston Celtics beat Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of 2024 NBA finals
The basketball team Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks by 1-0 in Game One of the National Basketball Association (NBA) 2024 finals. This thrilling match happened at TD Garden in Massachusetts.
Jaylen Brown led Boston in scoring 22 points, which played a significant role in securing the win for the team. However, five other players scored in double figures as Boston looked to earn its 18th title.
Hence, the strong defensive performance of the Boston Celtics was impressive, which led them to a 29-point advantage in the first half of the game.
In the third quarter, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic scored 30 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to help his team cut the lead to eight points. Rebound in basketball refers to the ball bouncing back after an unsuccessful basket attempt.
But in the fourth quarter, the Boston Celtics changed the game scenario on their side and beat the Dallas Mavericks by 107-89 with an 18-point lead.
Latvian basketballer Kristaps Porziņģis returned to the game for the Boston Celtics after missing ten games due to a calf injury. He scored 20 points and 11 of them came off rebounds.

After the match, Jaylen stated when Dallas cut the game to eight, that is when the game started. He was pleased with their team’s response. They maintained their composure. They made some plays and got an advantage once they found their spacing.
However, Luka Doncic said opponent players were stopping them. They prevented them from grabbing offensive rebounds. Hence, they were enjoying themselves. They need to do that more often.
Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks will again engage in a basketball fight at the same venue on June 10, 2024. It will be Game 2 of the NBA 2024 finals.
