Army Chief to Host Iftar for Pakistan Cricket Team

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir is set to host an Iftar party for the Pakistan Cricket Team on Aril 7, 2024 in Rawalpindi. The national Cricket team is now participating in a fitness camp in Kakul, Abbottabad.

The Army School of Physics Training served as a training ground and gym for Pakistani athletes (ASPT). The fitness camp will end on April 8, 2024. However, it may end one day earlier than the previously stated date.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released a statement to inform that Army Chief Asim Munir will host an Iftar party for Pakistan Cricket Team players.

Meanwhile, cricketers will leave Abbottabad and travel to Rawalpindi for the Iftar meal during this fasting month of Ramadan on April 7, 2024. Players will return home after Iftar before Eid-ul-Fitr.

29 players are part of the Kakul fitness camp including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Mohammad Rizwan. Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Haseebullah, Saud Shakeel, Usman Khan, Mohammad Haris are also part of camp.

Apart from them, Salman Ali Agha, Azam Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Irfan Khan Niazi, Shadab Khan, and Imad Wasim are camp members.

In addition, Usama Mir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mehran Mumtaz, Abrar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Ali, and Zaman Khan are others. Mohammad Wasim Jr., Aamir Jamal, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Amir are included in the Kakul camp.

However, New Zealand will also arrive in Pakistan on April 14, 2024, ahead of the much-awaited five-match Twenty International series. Both teams will play three T-20s in Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

After that, rival teams will travel to Lahore. They will play here the final two T-20 Internationals on April 25 and 27. All five matches of the T-20 series will begin at 7:00 p.m. (Pakistan Standard Time).
