Amanda Anisimova beat Emma Navarro to reach 2024 Toronto Open Final

American tennis player Amanda Anisimova beat Emma Navarro to reach the final of the 2024 WTA Toronto Open. WTA refers to the Women’s Tennis Association.

It was a semi-final match where Amanda defeated Emma to qualify for the WTA 2024 finals. Amanda has 132nd ranking globally in the tennis world and defeated her 15th-ranked rival.

She stated “Excellent achievement” after winning her semi-finals against Emma. Something she has been putting a lot of effort into it. Emma is also the eighth-best tennis player in this tournament.

It is significant to note that Amanda took a mental health leave of absence last year. However, she won two WTA Tour Titles in Melbourne in 2022 and Bogota in 2019.

Amanda said she did not want to end her career on that note. She had given and sacrificed so much for the sport. She said she was trying to fight. So, she is happy with how she was able to pull through.

Amanda Anisimova beat Emma Navarro by three match sets 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. After defeating Emma, Amanda will next face the third-best tournament player Jessica Pegula in the 2024 Toronto Final.

Jessica is the third-best player in this tournament who defeated 14th-ranked Russian player Diana Shnaider by 6-4 and 6-3.

Amanda has distinctions as a tennis player to defeat players ranked in the top 20 to reach finals. She beat 3rd-ranked Aryna Sabalenka and 12th-ranked Daria Kasatakina. She also beat 17th-ranked Anna Kalinskaya and 15th-ranked Emma Navarro.

Amanda defeated the second-best player of the tournament Aryna by 6-2, 6-2 to earn her first win over a woman ranked in the top 10 in almost two years. It was their Toronto Open 2024 quarterfinal match on August 10, 2024.

However, Amanda and Emma faced a little over an hour-long delay due to rain in the York University Play in the Toronto Open 2024 semi-finals.
