HMD to launch first smartphone in India this month
HMD Global, the company behind Nokia-branded phones, will launch its first smartphone, “HMD Arrow,” in India at the end of this month. The launch of HMD Arrow has faced earlier cancellations due to legal concerns.
However, it has now confirmed the launch in India. HMD Global conducted a contest on X to choose a name for an upcoming smartphone. It ultimately decided to name “Arrow.”
On the other hand, the company stated it chose the name “Arrow” for its upcoming smartphone but could not use it due to legal names. Hence, they will reveal another name in the coming days. We will use the name “Arrow” for this smartphone in this article for now.
HMD released its first smartphone “Pulse” in Europe in April 2024. There are speculations that HMD Arrow might be a rebranded version of HMD Pulse. HMD Arrow can also come with a 5G connection. Other rumored features and specifications about it are the following:

HMD Arrow will also feature full high-definition (FHD) video recording with a resolution of 1080p at 30 frames per second for the main back camera.
Its display will come with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a minimum brightness of 680 nits, and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits.
It is significant to note that HMD will launch its first smartphone in India on July 25, 2024. However, the company has not revealed the release date but several media sources have reported it.
