China court fined man ¥10k for breaking her colleague’s ribs while hugging

A court based in China fined a man ¥10k to pay his female colleague for so tightly hugging her that broke her three ribs. This shocking incident happened in May 2021.

When a man approached her female colleague in Yueyang City in the Hunan region while she interacted with him, he tightly hugged her. However, he did not know this hug would become extremely expensive.

After a tight hug, the woman cried out in intense pain as she returned home. She continued to have chest pain despite the passage of several hours. She applied some hot oil to the affected body part area and went to bed to sleep.

However, she felt a terrible pain in the coming days. So, she decided to get a medical consultation and went to a hospital. Her X-ray revealed she had three broken ribs. It included one on the left side of the ribcage and two on the right side.

The victim woman went mad to take leave to heal her broken ribs which resulted in her income loss. She was suffering from high medical costs as a result of treatment.

Following this, a woman met his colleague to work out a settlement for her medical expenses due to his problematic hug.

However, a male colleague did not take her stance that her ribs were broken as a result of his hug. He asked her to give proof of that and hence both went into disagreement.

It led the victim woman to file a lawsuit against a male colleague in Yunxi Court of Yueyang City to compensate her. China court gave a verdict in her favor and fined a man ¥10k to pay the victim woman despite the fact she could not provide proof.
