Billionaires are freezing their bodies in hopes of coming back to life in future

Do you know world billionaires are freezing their bodies in hopes of coming back to life in the future? Here is the reason. You may have seen in science fiction movies where astronauts enter a state of cryosleep to pass the time until they arrive at their destination.

They survive for years in this way, not requiring food or other resources. Movies like Passengers, Interstellar, and many others have portrayed this scenario.

Passengers movie revolves around the story of frozen astronauts

Some companies are using the same practices where they freeze a person with the intention of waking him at a later time. The hope is that man will eventually have the necessary technology to achieve this.

Following this concept, some billionaires are starting to use cryopreservation which involves freezing their bodies in the hopes of reviving them later, in the future.

It seems an entirely impossible concept, something we would only find in books, TV series, and movies. However, a few billionaires have carried it out.

Frozen people may be inactive for 100 years through cryopreservation

Companies have already frozen around 500 individuals in reality for potential resurrection globally. The majority of them are American citizens. Alcor Life Extension Foundation, a cryonics facility located in Arizona, with 1,400 members has frozen 230 people.

In case, you are wondering about the method of cryopreservation. It is based on the scientific concept of cryonics. Cryonics is a revolutionary process that involves preserving human bodies at ultra-low temperatures to sustain their integrity until medical advancements can potentially revive them.

Vitrification is another name for this process that uses a cryoprotectant solution in place of the patient’s blood to stop ice crystals from forming, which could harm human tissues and cells.

However, cryonics keep the human body frozen at -196 degrees Celcius and in a metal container. It comes with liquid nitrogen filling that is vacuum-insulated.

It is undoubtedly pretty expensive. Hence, the only people choosing it are individuals, who are wealthy beyond millions or billions of dollars.

The cost of cryopreservation for the entire body from Alcor is $220,000 or about 2 crore rupees. Alcor company also slows brain preservation for $80,000 (about 66 lakh).

It is significant to note that there is no guarantee that frozen individuals will revive in the future. It is impossible to predict that humanity will create a technology that will allow the body to revive and repair the harm done during the preservation process.

However, it provides hope for living to see a time when aging can be treated like a normal sickness. And life-threatening diseases become a thing of the past.
