Billionaire Issacman to become first space tourist with private spacewalk

Fintech billionaire Jared Issacman will become the first space tourist with the first-ever private spacewalk hosted by SpaceX. SpaceX is moving ahead to enter the space tourism industry.

It will take Jared on its first-ever private spacewalk in history when it launches its Polaris Dawn mission on August 19, 2024. The original date of this mission was July 31, 2024, but later rescheduled for August 2024.

This date postponement came after SpaceX’s rockets blew up in July. Director of Dragon mission at SpaceX, Sarah Walker stated a lot is going on the International Space Station right now.

As soon as they complete those responsibilities, they want to launch Polaris Dawn in late summer (August). They chose to fly the Crew-9 mission as their next space mission.

This is not the first time that billionaire Jared will travel in space. He had already flown on a SpaceX rocket when he took an expensive space vacation in 2021.

However, he was supposed for his first-ever private spacewalk on the Polaris Dawn mission the following year in 2022. But this mission was delayed due to unknown reasons. Considering the official reasons by SpaceX company, it is unclear whether the postponement happened due to either the Falcon 9 explosion or not.

Despite these postponements, billionaire Jared Issacman and the mission team will have an amazing experience when they become the first space tourist.

The Polaris Dawn mission will launch on August 19, 2024, and carry billionaire Jared Issacman on a private spacewalk. It will not connect with the International Space Station and take Jared and his companions farther from the moon’s orbit.

Dennis Tito was the first billionaire to space on April 28, 2001. He was also the first space tourist to the International Space Station. 11 billionaires worldwide have been to space including Jeff Bezos. Jared Issacman is also one of them.
