Village men tortured and blinded man over alleged donkey cart theft
Five men tortured and blinded a man named Sufian over alleged donkey cart theft in village 13-Soling, Bahawalpur. This tragic incident happened on July 1, 2024, under the territory of Baghdadul Jadid Police Station.
According to Baghdad police, suspects severely tortured Sufian on suspicion of stealing a donkey cart. The accused allegedly carved out his eyeballs while torturing him.
A police spokesperson informed media reporters that victim Sufian has severe damage to one eye and has lost all vision in the other eye. He also had scars from torture on many other parts of his body.
Following this incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Asad Sarfraz established a police team. He sent a team to arrest the suspects.
Police personnel arrived at the crime scene and rushed Sufian to the emergency department of Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH). They have also arrested one out of five suspects named Iqrar Hussain.
His arrest came following the first information report (FIR) registration against suspects. According to police, a land dispute was the driving force behind this horrific incident in which five village men tortured and blinded the victim man.
In a separate incident, Swat police arrested a couple including a stepmother and a father for torturing and abusing a nine-year-old child in the Khwazakhela area.
The accused stepmother burned the victim’s child’s body with a hot iron rod which left marks all over his body. She continued abusing the child while torturing him.
She committed this brutal act in front of the biological father of the victim. Following this horrific incident, a neighbor called Swat police.
Hence, the police arrested the stepmother and filed a case against her and the child’s father. Police revealed that residents of Khwazakhela informed them that the suspect was abusing a little child.
