Sindh government launched free air ambulance service for 3 cities
The government of Sindh has launched a free air ambulance service for three major cities including Ghotki, Sukkar, and Khairpur. Hence, the Sindh government becomes the first administration to provide general public air ambulance service under the Local Government Council Association.
Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah and Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani also emphasized the importance of this initiative.
They spoke about it yesterday during the signing of a contract for free air ambulance service with ASSL. ASSL refers to Airlift Sales and Services Limited.
They said this free ambulance service will play a crucial role in getting patients from Ghotki, Sukkur, and Khairur to Karachi. Minister Saeed Ghani also announced that ASSL Aviation and three local councils would be signing a contract.
He also mentioned that there has been great difficulty in getting patients from cities six hours distant from Karachi. They will be able to save precious lives now that the air ambulance service has started.
According to Minister Nasir Shah, the Sindh government would soon organize a free air ambulance service in other cities after it launched in Khairpur, Ghotki, and Sukkur. Emergency patients would get this service within two hours.
Nasir claimed Hyderabad, Thar, Nawabshah, and Larkana would also receive an air ambulance service. He continued there are plans to use the air ambulance at the airstrips in Badin as well.
Syed Kamil Haider Shah is the Chairman of the Local Council Association. He said the air ambulance service is being introduced in Sindh. It will also enable patients to be flown to Karachi from South Punjab and North Sindh which will save lives possibly.
He also mentioned that ASSL Aviation has signed a contract with three district councils in Sindh. He stated that the district councils of Ghotki, Sukkur, and Khairpur would receive five free flights each month from ASSL.
Akbar Jafri is the CEO of ASSL, an airlift company. He stated the company is now transporting patients by air ambulance from Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Quetta, and other places across Pakistan. According to Akbar, they are now beginning the air ambulance service from Sukkur to Karachi.
