Punjab University suspended student Sadia Baloch
The Punjab University has reportedly suspended Baloch student and activist Sadia Baloch for allegedly making objectionable remarks against govt institutions. Sadia is a fifth-year LLB student who faced rustication for participating in a protest two months ago to demand the release of her fellow students.
The administration of Punjab University (PU) referred her suspension to her offensive remarks about public institutions at the June 10 protest on campus.
An official statement from PU stated that the Baloch students organized a protest march which happened without the consent of the University administration.
According to the statement, Sadia is a student of University Law College who participated in that protest. She allegedly used offensive language in her remarks during the protest to incite other students to protest government institutions.
However, accused activist Sadia Baloch denied the allegations made against her by the PU administration. She stated PU issued her suspension orders which showed the state was targeting the Baloch participants in protests against the enforced disappearance of their people at the hands of powerful authorities.
According to Sadia, educational institutions like PU are not even pardoning Baloch students for holding peaceful protests and punishing them.
Moreover, she emphasized PU used inappropriate language and words against her in the suspension order. It raises questions about the integrity, values, and social discipline of PU.
Sadia also claimed that this move came just a week before her annual exams. She considers it a deliberate attempt to affect her educational career. She also called suspension an attack on her personal and moral character.

However, the administration considered her acts a violation of discipline and dangerous to the university’s integrity and reputation.
Following this, the administration of Punjab University suspended Baloch student Sadia. It has also sent his case to the disciplinary committee for further actions against her.
Sadia also demands PU administration cancel her suspension order and take back baseless accusations against her. She urged they must follow negotiations of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) with the state.
