PTI Islamabad President Aamir Mughal arrested from DC office

President of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad, Aamir Mughal, has been arrested by police today from outside of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. According to PTI, its leader went to the Islamabad DC office to obtain a no-objection certificate for the party’s rally on July 6, 2024.

PTI had to conduct this rally to demand the release of imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan and against Inflation. However, Aamer was in the middle of rally organizational steps when police arrested him. A PTI lawyer, Asim Baig, verified the arrest news of Aamir in the capital city.

It is unknown whether Islamabad police arrested Aamer Mughal in which offense or crime. PTI described his arrest as absolutely ridiculous and shameful.


PTI stated it is condemnable how public officers misuse their power against common citizens of the state and conduct such illegal actions and arrests.


According to the party, Islamabad police arrested PTI President Aamir Mughal for sabotaging an upcoming rally in the capital city. However, it emphasized that protest and public gatherings are acknowledged rights in the constitution of Pakistan.

It is significant to note Aamer was taken into custody during a police and CDA raid on PTI’s Central Secretariat (CDA) on May 23, 2024. CDA refers to the Capital Development Authority.

CDA also demolished the PTI secretariat office due to an alleged violation of building rules. After demolition, CDA officials sealed the PTI central office and posted a banning order.

Meanwhile, PTI activists opposed attempts by the government to destroy the office during this process. It resulted in the arrests of several party workers by Islamabad Police.

On the other hand, the Imran Khan party strongly condemned the CDA’s demolition of the PTI office. It also condemned the arrests of several PTI workers and demanded their release.
