Police filed FIR against British diplomat for hitting police officer
Islamabad Territory Police (ICT) filed an FIR against a British female diplomat as her car hit and injured a police officer named Amir Dad Kakar. Amir was riding a motorbike at Radio Pakistan Chowk, Islamabad. The third secretary of the British High Commission was driving the car when this accident happened.
Meanwhile, DIG Operations Islamabad Ali Raza visited him in PIMS hospital. Muhammad Tahir consoled him, sent his warmest wishes, and wished him a quick recovery.
However, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have filed an FIR against the British diplomat on the government’s complaint. This complaint included provisions related to negligence and signal violation against the car hitter secretary.
According to FIR, the third secretary of the British High Commission had broken a traffic signal, which caused a high-speed car to hit a motorcycle.
It resulted in critical injuries of motorbike rider, Amir Dad. The injured police officer, Amir Dad, is a police constable assigned to the security division.
This incident happened at Radio Pakistan Chowk on Constitution Avenue, where Islamabad Traffic Police manually controlled traffic flow due to electricity suspension.
FIR stated that Amir Dad was riding a motorbike from Isphani Road toward Radio Pakistan Chowk when his side of the road was open to traffic. However, the accused secretary drove from D-Chowk on Constitution Avenue in her official Honda car.
Meanwhile, the ITP official manually stopped the traffic on her side. But instead of waiting for the close indication, a British diplomat’s car hit Constable Amir Dad. After the accident, ITP officials and police seized the car for legal action against the secretary.
They also shifted Amir Dad to the Polyclinic Hospital for medical treatment. Later, they shifted Amir to PIMS hospital for medical tests. He appeared to be in stable condition. However, Islamabad police allowed the driver to go after she introduced herself as a British diplomat.
