Pakistan Caretaker Government Unveils Haj Policy 2024
The Caretaker Government of Pakistan unveils sweeping reforms in Haj Policy for the year 2024. This policy is in accordance with Saudi regulations and provides the base for more efficient utilization of pilgrimage (Hajj) opportunities.
The federal government led by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq has made significant changes to the Hajj Policy 2024. It has a goal of making the pilgrimage procedure simple and improving the experience for Pakistani pilgrims. Religious Affairs Minister, Aneeq Ahmed launched Pakistan’s Hajj Policy 2024 yesterday.
What is the new cost of pilgrimage by Hajj 2024 policy?
Mr. Aneeq revealed that the cost of the Hajj package under the government’s scheme has been cut by Rs.100,000 which is approximately 347.92 dollars this year.
What is new in the Hajj 2024 policy?
Minister Aneeq said in a press conference that Hajj 2024 will have a digital version. Every pilgrim will have an app on their mobile called “Pak Hajj”. It has many features, for example, if a pilgrim is going from Mina to Arafat and has to come back. But he is unable to find his tent, all he has to do is just switch this app on and say “Tent 15” (his tent number). This app will take that pilgrim to his specified tent.

Saudi Arabia restored the pre-coronavirus Hajj ratio of 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims and lifted the pilgrimage’s upper age limit of 65 years. In 2023, about 81,000 Pakistani pilgrims performed Hajj under the government scheme while the rest used private tour companies.
During the press conference, Mr.Aneeq informed reporters that Saudi Arabia has allowed Pakistan a quota of 179,210 pilgrims for Hajj this year.
Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage that every Muslim adult has an obligation to perform at least once in their lives if they are physically and financially capable. The sacred pilgrimage is one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. Where Muslims offer prayers and perform rituals in Makkah, the holy city.
