LHC judges received threatening letters after IHC judges
The judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) have also received threatening letters after the Judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The Lahore High Court Registrar Officer revealed it.
Three LHC judges including Justice Shujaat Ali, Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, and Justice Alia Neelum have received threatening letters. These judges are part of the administrative body of LHC.
Officials from the counter-terrorism department (CTD) arrived at the LHC with increased security after they received information about threatened letters.
Authorities have also sent a forensic team to court to investigate the suspicious letters. The security cameras positioned all around the high court are also being examined.
Before this incident, eight judges of Islamabad High Court had received threatening letters a day before. IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq was also among those judges who received letters. The letters were laced with toxic powdery chemical anthrax. Anthrax causes serious infectious illness.
A team of professionals from CTD began a comprehensive investigation to gather evidence and determine the powdery substance. According to Dunya news, CTD has recently filed a case against unknown suspects following the IHC judge’s letters.
A woman named Resham submitted a letter filled with a toxic chemical, anthrax to IHC judges. However, she did not provide her address.

An assistant of the IHC judge unintentionally dropped the packet containing the strange powder. After that, he experienced severe eye irritation and skin burns around his lips. It came after six judges of the IHC accused spy agencies of interfering in court matters.
However, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken sou moto notice and formed a seven-member bench to examine the case. Pakistan Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa will lead this bench.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Athar Minallah, and Justice Mussarat Hilali are among the seven-member bench. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhailm and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan are also among them. There are a total of eight judges in Islamabad High Court who received threatened letters.
