Karachi police arrested two RAW agents in Korangi
Karachi police arrested two suspected RAW agents in Korangi during an operation against terrorists that disrupted a major terror plot. Arrested suspects allegedly have a connection with India’s secret agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
SSP Korangi, Hasan Sardar claims that arrested suspects had committed acts of terrorism and target killing. They also seized two hand grenades, firearms, and weapons from them.
Later investigation showed that one of the arrested individuals played a significant role in facilitating communication with foreign handlers. It also revealed that the suspects sent private data and photos to contacts overseas and received orders from outside.
The police also found that the accused received substantial money from overseas bank accounts. It also showed the global reach of terrorist networks. However, authorities expect more information to come to light in the next several days as they continue investigating arrested suspects.
Karachi police arrested two suspected RAW agents named Khawar Hussain and Jaber from the Korangi Industrial Area. Meanwhile, the Interior Minister of Sindh, Zia-ul-Hassan Linjar, has appreciated the Karachi police squad for their successful operation in arresting two RAW agents.
Zia-ul-Hassan Linjar also appreciated the technological help that sensitive national institutes had given to make the operation possible. He emphasized the region’s commitment to maintaining law and order by highlighting the significance of punishing those who plotted acts against humanity on Pakistani land.
Minister Zia-ul-Hassan also urged the importance of ongoing investigations in reducing criminal activity and the necessity of continuing to be successful in the fight against terrorism.
However, it is significant to note that the incident of arrested RAW agents in Pakistan is not uncommon. Law enforcement officials have caught several RAW agents inciting peace in Pakistan on multiple occasions.
One such example is the high-profile case of a RAW agent, Kalbhushan Jadhav, whom Pakistani forces arrested for spying in Balochistan on March 3, 2016. Pakistani authorities found him guilty of various terrorist activities in Pakistan. He is still in the custody of Pakistani security forces.
