Hidden cameras found inside girls’ hostel washrooms in Lahore
Lahore Police have filed an FIR against seven suspects after they found hidden cameras inside girls’ hostel washrooms in Johar Town. A girls’ hostel named Ghazal Hostel in Johar Town, Lahore, had hidden cameras installed in its washroom.
This bizarre revelation came to light when the uncle of a student, Nasir Maahmood, accused the Ghazal Hotel administration of secretly filming inappropriate videos of female students.
According to Nasir, his 17-year-old niece found a camera when she went to the hostel washroom. She also informed her colleagues about it.
This hostel accommodates about forty female students from various places in Punjab. Following the complaint, police filed an FIA against seven people, including hostel owners, Salim and Fouzia Salim. Other suspects include several employees of the hostel.
Saqib from Vehari, Ali Hassan from Rahim Yar Khan, and Muhammad Zubair from Jhang are those suspects. Others include Irfan from Pakpattan and Tayyab Shahzad from Sheikhupura. However, when they heard about the police investigation, they left the hotel.
When police found hidden cameras inside girls’ hostel washrooms, they vacated the hostel and began an investigation. The police investigative teams also recorded students’ statements. The female students confirmed the existence of cameras in their hostel’s washrooms while recording their statements.
Meanwhile, police officials said the students and parents are extremely concerned about this immoral act by the hostel’s owners and administration. They fear the culprits might have sold recorded video clips on the dark web or social media.
According to a police spokesperson, some individuals nominated in the FIR have escaped, while others (hostel owners) have received court-granted pre-arrest bail. He also revealed to media reporters that they had vacated the hostel. A special investigative police team is investigating this illegal and immoral act.
