First-ever Virtual Women Police Station launched by Maryam Nawaz
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the first-ever virtual women police station named “Meri Awaaz, Maryam Nawaz.” She said women will no longer have to visit police stations unnecessarily, thanks to the virtual women’s police station.
The virtual women’s police station is part of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) project. Maryam Nawaz said women can contact the police through 15 Call and the Women Safety App’s live chat feature. They can also contact through the video call feature, the Punjab Police App, and the Safety City web portal.
This Police Station will guide women through all crime stages, from the FIR registration to its investigation and trial. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that authorities will solve all problems faced by women including harassment on a priority basis.
She also clarified that a woman can share her problem with complete privacy and confidence without revealing her name and address at the Virtual Women Police Station.
The newly launched police station for women has also introduced a live video call feature that allows women to point out their problems. Women can share their location through a video call feature.
Women police communication officers who have completed their IT degrees have been assigned at this police station to help female complainants. Authorities have also installed 100 contemporary emergency panic buttons following the orders of Maryam Nawaz.

Maryam stated panic buttons have installations in universities, colleges, markets, and bazaars. Hence, females can immediately press these panic buttons connected to Safe City to register a complaint.
She also revealed the Punjab government has made a complaint mechanism to operate against crimes, police officers, and officials on IG 1787. However, users can send anonymous complaints via the Safety City Authority Web Portal and 1787 Helpline.
CM Maryam Nawaz also spoke with the Women Communication Police Officer after visiting and examining the virtual police station. She also examined the early completion of the daycare facility and hostel for female personnel.
