FIA raided PCB office and seized ticket sales record
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided the office of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). They also seized ticket sales records regarding the New Zealand-Pakistan T-20 series.
Meanwhile, FIA also interrogated a few staff members at the PCB office directly involved in ticket sales for the T-20 series between New Zealand and Pakistan.
The raid of PCB comes after receiving several complaints regarding the purchase and sale of tickets during the series. FIA also interrogated a female PCB official who was handling the series tickets.
According to media reports, FIA is also investigating several other senior officials whom PCB has employed for a long time for ticketing and other related offenses.
However, the FIA raided the PCB office after the Interior Ministry reportedly ordered the FIA to conduct an inquiry. The ministry took this step in response to several complaints regarding ticket sales. Before raiding PCB officers, FIA had warned PCB officials to provide relevant records.
Meanwhile, PCB chief Najam Sethi revealed FIA raided the cricket board’s office. FIA officials also took away the head of E-Ticketing, Mahvish Omer. He expressed displeasure over the conduct of FIA and accused FIA officers of misbehaving with PCB staff.
Najam Sethi also supported Mahvish Omer and praised her for playing a major role in managing the e-ticketing sales. He said Mahvish performed a significant role in boosting Pakistan’s cricket while maintaining ticket sales well.
Moreover, he stated he does not like passing remarks on PCB matters. He doesn’t want to take his words for wrong interpretation. However, he feels it is necessary to bring attention to a serious injustice done to a respected PCB professional currently serving Pakistan’s cricket board.
Najam also revealed FIA accused Mahvish of misusing PKR 80,000 from e-ticketing sales of PSL. He emphasized that accusations against Mahvish are wrong as PSL earned 60 crore through ticket sales.
He also claimed a company named Bookme made these complaints as it lost the contract to handle the online ticket sales.
