Famous businessman Zulfiqar Ahmed went missing in Karachi
Famous Pakistani businessman Zulfiqar Ahmed, the owner of Paracha Textile, Meezan Oil, and Cola Next went missing in Karachi. His family sources reported that armed men wearing masks forcibly took Zulfiqar with him and then disappeared.
The incident of his kidnapping happened on Mauripur Road, Keamari. Unknown armed men used gunpoint to force Zulfiqar Ahmad and his companion, Qaiser to sit in a double cabin vehicle.
However, witnesses stated that the kidnappers released Qaiser shortly after abducting him. However, Zulfiqar remains in their custody.
According to media reports, Zulfiqar’s family faces trouble submitting a First Information Report (FIR) to a police station. The day following the kidnapping of Zulfiqar, they attempted to submit a formal complaint at the police station. However, authorities have not yet done so.
Following this, the family of a famous businessman Zulfiqar Ahmed moved to the Sindh High Court (SHC) as its member went missing. They filed a petition for the recovery of Zulfiqar.
SHC has issued notices to federal and provincial law officers and the inspector general of police among others to recover Zulfiqar whom an armed man kidnapped from the Layari area two days ago.
Zulfiqar’s wife Anber filed a petition in SHC and stated her spouse was a well-renowned businessman and managing director of a textile manufacturing and oil company.
Anber revealed that Zulfiqar left his office on July 23, 2024, with his friend Qaiser on his way to Agra Taj Colony. Meanwhile, unknown armed men came in black Vigo and intervened by stopping his car and abducting them. They took them to an unknown location through a double cabin vehicle.
The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court the family went to Kalri police station to file an FIR about this incident. However, the police did not register the case for unknown reasons.
The victim’s family has great concern about Zulfiqar’s safety as neither police arrested him nor produced him before any court. So, the lawyer requested SHC to present Zulfiqar before the court and reveal details of cases against him if they exist.
