Faisalabad traders sued Dr. Affan over watermelon injection claims
Faisalabad traders have sued Dr. Affan Qaiser for PKR 10 billion over his claims regarding injecting watermelons. Dr. Affan is a famous gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist.
Dr. Affan is facing a lawsuit from Faisalabad traders for his controversial remarks about watermelon injection. Traders claim they have faced significant financial losses due to widespread fear among the public caused by Dr. Affan.
Faisalabad Traders Association has also filed a case against Dr. Affan at Ghulam Muhammad Police Station. However, these legal actions from traders started after the social media post of Dr. Affan.
The doctor claimed in his video that fruit sellers inject toxic substances into watermelons. These substances become the cause of food poisoning and diarrhea. Hence, his claims spread fear among the public.
According to the trader’s lawsuit, Affan’s remarks have caused chaos and negatively impacted landlords and dealers. They claim that they are facing a continuous decline in watermelon sales, and fear it aroused in customers has cost them billions of rupees.
Hence, Faisalabad Traders sued Dr. Affan for PKR 10 billion while demanding financial compensation for the damage done by him. They also request the court to hold him accountable for the economic disturbance and unnecessary stress brought on by his baseless remarks.
A spokesperson for the Faisalabad Traders Association also said the reckless claims of Dr. Affan Qaiser have not only harmed their businesses. But, they have also attempted to create nationwide chaos.
So, they are looking for justice and accountability for the serious financial and psychological harm that the accused doctor has done to them.
However, Dr. Affan Qaiser claimed that watermelons have been sold in Pakistani markets while injected with harmful red-colored and flavored fluid. This gives a reddish color and results in the sweet taste of watermelons.
