Daniyal Aziz to contest elections against PMLN from Narowal

Displeased and angry PMLN member Daniyal Aziz has announced to contest the general elections 2024 as an independent candidate against his party PMLN. He will run for constituency NA-75 from Narowal.

Daniyal Aziz has to contest elections for constituency NA-75 in Narowal. The PML-N has fielded Chaudhary Anwar ul Haq in the same constituency.

Daniyal said he has not spoken with anyone in the PMLN regarding a party ticket. He stated that his mission is to end inflation.

After being left out of the party’s ticket allocation, he has decided to run as an independent candidate in the much-awaited general elections. He revealed it during an interview with a private television channel.

PMLN has not granted a single ticket to the experienced politician for any of the two National Assembly or four provincial assembly seats. However, Daniyal stated that he did not apply for a party ticket because he was in the hospital.

When asked if Daniyal would compete not only against other political parties but also against his party, he replied “Yes, that’s right”. He stated that his wife will also run as an independent candidate.

Meanwhile, Daniyal said PMLN has given the ticket to an unknown man who is not a party member. However, he has been left out for speaking in favor of the public.

It all came after the relationship of Daniyal with PMLN soured following a quarrel with fellow politician Ahsan Iqbal. He strongly criticized the policies of Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal. He alleged Ahsan had harmed the reputation of PMLN by failing to manage inflation during the previous coalition government (PDM).

Daniyal questioned why Ahsan Iqbal, the Price Monitoring Committee Chairman, failed to control record-breaking inflation. Punjab PMLN President Rana Sanaullah issued a show-cause notice to Daniyal following his criticized remarks about Ahsan.
