Uttarakhand nurse Tasleem Jahan raped & killed on way home from hospital
A Muslim nurse Tasleem Jahan was raped and killed on her way back home from a private hospital in Uttarakhand. This tragic incident became the second most horrific case after the brutal rape and murder of a Kolkata doctor, Dr. Moumita Debanth.
The chilling inhumane details after the rape-murder case of Dr. Moumita have already sparked outrage among the Indian public. Nurse Tasleem’s case has now further fueled the sentiments of the nation. Netizens are demanding justice for victims.
However, the police in Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar district reportedly resolved the case of the horrific murder of Tasleem by taking the culprit into custody.
They arrested the accused Dharmendra Kumar from Jodhpur, Rajasthan on August 14, 2024. Dharmendra is a laborer from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The case unfolded when police found the skeleton of Tasleen near the Uttar Pradesh border.
Tasleem was a 33-year-old nurse working at a private hospital in Nainital, Uttarakhand. She went missing on July 30, 2024. Her dead body was found in an empty plot in Dibdiba area of Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, Dharmendra first took Uttarakhand nurse Tasleem Jahan to bushes where he raped her and then strangled her to death. Afterward, he robbed jewelry and money from her.
However, victim Tasleem was a resident of Islamnagar, Gadarpur. She lived with her 11-year-old daughter in Bilaspur Colony. Her sister filed a missing complaint at Rudrapur police station on July 31, 2024, when she went missing.
Following this, police started an investigation and scanned CCTV cameras in which she appeared last time near the colony. SSP Dr. Manjunath TC said they found Tasleem’s dead body in bushes in Uttar Pradesh. They sent her dead body for post-mortem.
Then, they formed a police investigation team which led to the arrest of Dharmendra. The accused said he caught Tasleem at Kashipur Road with the intention of robbery. So, he took her to a bush plot where he raped and murdered her and ran away for looted items.
