Nigerian military killed bandit commander among 36 bandits

The Nigerian military has killed a bandit commander, Buhari Alhaji Halidu, also known as “Buharin Yadi” among 36 bandits. Buharin was one of the worst bandit leaders who terrorized the North region of Nigeria for years.

Hence, residents of the border towns between Kaduna and Katsina became happy as soon as they received death news of significant bandits. They also celebrated their deaths.

Samuel Aruwan is commissioner of Kaduna State for home affairs and internet security. He revealed the news of the bandit’s death. According to Samuel, the dead commander Buhari had relations with other dangerous terrorist organizations in the North-East and North West of Nigeria.

Commissioner Samuel also revealed that Buharin and his gang members had been terrorizing the people in Kidana, Galadimawa, in Giwa Local Government Area. They also targeted Sabon Birni and Kerawa in the Igabi Local Government Area in Kaduna State.

Samuel stated that Buharin Yadi was among the lethal bandit leaders to terrorize Northern Nigeria over the past ten years. Hence, he has met his bitter end at the hands of security forces.

Section 6 Operation Whirl Punch troops, the Division of Nigerian Military, killed bandit commander Buharin Yadi with 35 other bandits. They dealt them with a fatal blow ending their reign of terror.

Major General M.L.D. Saraso is the General Officer Commanding of One Division Nigerian Army. Troops under his command fought bandits.

The clash between bandits and the army happened around Idasu forest at the boundaries between Giwa LGA of Kaduna State and Sabuwa LGA of Katsina State.

They conducted this operation following intelligence reports on the bandit’s movement from the Samunaka and Saulawa areas of Katsina state.

First, they destroyed their settlement while moving to Samunaka. One cattle was also killed as a result of an explosive attack. Then, they moved ahead to put an end to bandits after the fierce gunfire exchange with them.
