The Glassworker will hit screens on July 26, 2024, in Pakistan. It is a family movie with screenings at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Cannes Film Market. However, the film production team has not announced its release for international screens.
The Glassworker trailer introduces us to the son of a glassworker, Vincent who manages a glass workshop in a setting inspired by Pakistan. British actor Sacha Dhawan voiced for Vincent.
It is a family-friendly film about young Vincent and his father Tomas, who own the best glass workshop in Pakistan. It shows how their lives become upside down by an upcoming war in which they have no desire to participate.
Their world collapses. Their father-son bond faces trial when an army colonel and his young daughter, Alliz arrive in their village.
Hence, the trailer shows the story of The Glassworker, Pakistan’s first animated film is ambitious. It portrays themes of love during warfare, ethical issues, and the process of creating glass art.
