Mohamed Irfan received violation notice for revealing unborn child sex

Famous YouTuber and food vlogger Mohamed Irfan received a violation notice for revealing his unborn child’s sex online. Irfan has run into issues after revealing the gender of his unborn child on social media following a sex determination test.

Irfan revealed in several videos that he and his spouse went to Dubai to undergo a gender determination test. In one of his videos, Irfan spoke about the child’s gender. He disclosed information the doctor had given him, along with the video of the examination.

His Dubai travel video received more than 1 million views, but his gender reveal video gained close to 2 million views. He has 4.29 million YouTube subscribers overall.

However, Mohamed Irfan received a violation notice from the Tamil Nadu Health Department as it is against the law in India to reveal the gender of an unborn child. According to this law, whoever violates it is penalized under the PC-PNDT Act.

This act is called the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act). It aims to protect unborn children’s rights and safety while prohibiting gender-based abortions. It came into force in 1994 to stop female abortions and deal with India’s dropping sex ratio.

Hence, the Tamil Nadu Health Department sent a notice to Irfan and stated YouTuber also shared footage of a family gathering where he revealed the gender of his unborn child.

According to the Health Department, the enforcement officer has sent a notice to Mr. Irfan in an attempt to pursue legal action. Such actions may result in fewer girl babies being born nationwide, not only in Tamil Nadu.

The department has also written a letter to the Cyber wing of the police to remove the relevant video of Irfan from his account. However, Irfan claimed that he had removed that particular video. He also intended to respond to notice once he received it.
