Maharashtra Cyber summoned Tamanna Bhatia for illegal IPL streaming

Maharashtra Cyber has summoned Indian actress Tamanna Bhatia for illegal 2023 IPL streaming on the FairPlay Betting App. They have called her to answer questions in connection with unlawful IPL streaming.

According to Indian media reports, Tamanna Bhatia is expected to appear for Maharashtra Cyber on April 29, 2024. Tamanna has worked in Bollywood movies such as Lust Stories 2 and Baahubali.

This investigation of Maharashtra comes on behalf of broadcaster Viacom 18’s complaint. They alleged that several IPL (Indian Premier League) matches were streamed on the app without authorization.

BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) sold broadcasting rights to Viacom 18 for 2023-2027. Hence, Viacom 18 purchased rights to live-stream IPL matches from BCCI for 48,390 crore.

The broadcaster company Viacom 18 claimed that this alleged activity of streaming IPL matches on the FairPlay app has caused them significant financial losses.

Hence, Maharashtra Cyber summoned Tamanna Bhatia for allegedly promotion watching (IPL) matches on the Fairplay betting app.

Maharashtra Cyber Cell has already recorded statements from musician Badshah, and the management of Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez in this aspect.

Maharashtra Police Cyber Cell is questioning rapper Badshah in Mumbai, in connection with the online betting company app 'FairPlay'. 40 celebrities including the rapper had allegedly promoted the FairPlay app.

Fairplay Betting App is a subsidiary of Mahadev’s online gaming app. It is a platform for betting exchange for a large selection of sports and entertainment. Hence, the most popular sports on FairPlay are tennis, cricket, and football.

The app streams every sporting event live so that users can watch and win at the same time. It offers facilities for illegal betting on a variety of live games, including cricket, badminton, football, etc.

Mahadev’s betting app became the center of attraction for the media last year when Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor appeared in ads for the app. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) called them for interrogation.
