Film Family Star faced censor board’s objections over vulgar words

Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda’s film, “Family Star” faced the CBFC censor board’s objections over vulgar words’ use in the movie. Given the title, the audience assumed the film would be a family-friendly love story.

However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has objected to vulgar word usage in Vijay-Mrunal’s Telugu romance. This objection came just two days before its release.

The movie received a U/A certificate at the CBFC screening in Hyderabad. CBFC issues a U/A certificate when a film includes a moderate adult theme that children under 12 cannot watch.

In addition, the censor board also muted some profanity utilized in the romantic comedy. The sequences with the backdrop of the United States were the ones where the offensive language was most frequently utilized. Hence, the film Family Star faced the censor board’s objections.

The censors recommended muting vulgar and profane words to make the Family Star tone family-friendly. The U/A certification of Vijay-Mrunal’s film has gone viral on social media.

It states the film duration will take about two hours, forty-three minutes, and twenty seconds. Five profane words and an overuse of alcohol labels in one song have been attributed to the five cuts.

Movie star Vijay Deverakonda also shared a film trailer with a tweet caption, This summer. To celebrate, laugh, cheer, relive, and have a great time at the movies in just one week.

In the movie, Vijay and Mrunal play lovers who experience contradictory emotions as they try to understand one another’s sentiments.

Significant cast members of the romantic comedy are Vasuki, Abhinaya, Ravi Babu, Vennela Kishore, and Rohini Hattangadi. Parasuram has directed Family Star.

Vijay will also next appear in Gautham Tinnanuri, the historical drama. However, Family Star marks Mrunal’s third appearance in a Telugu film. It follows her roles in Hi Nanna and Sita Ramam.
