Ex-bandmate Susmit Sen filed complaint against Rahul Ram & Amit Kilam

Ex-bandmate for Indian Ocean Susmit Sen filed a complaint against present brand members Rahul Ram and Amit Kilam. He filed this complaint for non-payment of dues since 2020-21.

Things may never be the same again for the Indian Ocean band as guitarist-composer Susmit and Sunita Chakravarty have filed a police case against Rahul and Amit.

Sunita is the wife of the late co-founder of the Indian Ocean band, Ashim Chakravarty. Sunita and Susmit have accused Rahul, Amit, and Kandisa Music Productions Pvt Ltd, of not paying them pending dues.

The accused are facing charges including money laundering, cheating, misappropriation, theft, and criminal breach of trust.

Ex-bandmate Susmit Sen and co-founder’s wife Sunita filed a complaint for these charges at Mukherjee Nagar Police Station in New Delhi. Police filed these charges under sections of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).

Both accusers stated in their police complaint they had not received royalties or dues from the Indian Ocean band since 2020-21. The accused have denied them royalty payments worth more than 500,000 rupees (INR) per head.

It is significant to note that even though Susmit Sen left the rock band Indian Ocean in 2013, he is still a shareholder in a company, Kandisa Music Productions Pvt Ltd. that manages the band. He founded a different band Susmit Sen Chronicles in 2011 and is recently based in Goa.

Susmit had formed the Indian Ocean band with Ashim Chakravarty. He expressed displeasure over taking legal action against existing band members. He said it gave him no pleasure to take police action against them today.

Susmit stated the band he created in 1990 with Ashim and his father Ajit Kumar Sen named this band. Circumstances have forced him to initiate police action against band members.

Moreover, he said he was the band’s lead guitarist and composer when Ashim and he founded it. So, what he has gone through is truly regrettable. He was a crucial member of the Indian Ocean.
