Actress Minu Muneer accused multiple co-stars of sexual misconduct

Malayalam actress Minu Muneer accused multiple Mollywood co-stars of sexual misconduct after the Hema Committee report. Her claims came after the publication of the Hema Committee report on August 19, 2024.

This report exposed several cases of physical and sexual abuse of Malayalam female actresses at the hands of filmmakers and male stars.

Regarding recent developments, Minu accused several former co-stars and production crew members of physically and verbally abusing her. She also named big Malayalam stars including Jayasurya and M Mukesh. She called “intolerable abuse” at their hands.

Minu claimed on her Facebook account that both Jayasurya and M Mukesh abused her physically and verbally back in 2013. She fell victim to their abuse while working on a project with them 11 years ago.

She stated she tried to cooperate with them to continue on that project but their abuse became intolerable. Apart from Jayasurya and Mukesh, actress Minu Muneer also accused other multiple co-stars including Maniyanpilla Raju and Idavela Babu of harassment.

Advocate Chandrasekaran, production controller Noble, and Vichu are also among the accusers. Minu said after their harassment and unjust abuse, she forcibly quit the Malayalam industry and went to Chennai for settlement.

She said she spoke against abuse in an article published in Kerala Kaumudi titled “Minu Left Malayalam Industry for Unable to Cooperate with Adjustment.”

Minu also stated she was now seeking justice and accountability for the psychological trauma she suffered. Hence, she requests help while taking action against the accused Malayalam industry people’s horrible acts.

However, two famous Malayalam personalities quit following the same allegations by actresses. Actor Siddique quit as general secretary of AMMA following rape allegations by an undisclosed young female actress.

AMMA refers to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes. Another big name Kerala State Chalachitra Academy Chairperson Ranjith resigned after Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra accused him of sexual harassment.
