6-year-old Khaleesi denied passport due to "Game of Thrones" trademark

A 6-year-old little girl named Khaleesi was denied a passport due to her name being similar to a well-known character from Game of Thrones. She faced an unexpected obstacle in her path to Disneyland when British authorities denied her passport application.

The mother of Khaleesi Holloway, Lucy revealed to media reporters about this incident. She said the UK Passport Office informed them her daughter’s name violated Warner Brothers’ trademark for the highly praised fantasy series.

Emilia Clarke played the popular character Daenerys Targaryen, who was also referred to as Khaleesi or queen in Game of Thrones.

Lucy expressed her surprise at learning from the Passport Office that her daughter’s name was copyrighted. Hence, they needed approval from the massive entertainment company to use the name “Khaleesi” on a passport.

This news made the much-awaited £2,000 holiday less fun. Lucy stated she was devastated to know this. They were looking forward to their first holiday together.

According to Lucy, the UK Passport Office insisted on a letter from Warner Brothers at first, even after they advised them to seek legal counsel lawyers. They also showed them proof that the trademark did not cover personal names.

Lucy is truly stressed out from the experience. She has decided to delay the vacation until after she and Khaleesi receive their passports.

On the other hand, a little young girl is optimistic about their ideal vacation to Disneyland Paris despite the difficulties. She frequently refers to herself as “Khaleesi Holloway Queen of Dragons.”
