Indian Cricketer Dinesh Karthik retired from all formats of cricket after ending his IPL career at 39 years of age. He was a wicketkeeper and batsman for India National Cricket Team.
An era has come to an end for Dinesh with his retirement after playing a significant role in both national and international competitions during his career. He played for team Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024 on May 22, 2024.
The cricket star made his retirement news on his social media by leaving an emotional letter with a video. He wrote he has been overwhelmed by affection, support, and love, which he has received in the past few days.
Dinesh also stated he sincerely apologized and extended his heartfelt gratitude to all his fans who have helped him express this feeling. He has decided to move on from playing representative cricket after giving it a lot of thought.
Hence, he declared his retirement and put his playing days in the past as he prepared for the upcoming challenges. He also expressed gratitude to the team.
In this letter, he thanked coaches, captains, selectors, teammates, and support personnel for making his tough journey incredible. He wrote he considers himself among the few lucky to have had the chance to represent the nation among the millions that play the sport in the country.

Meanwhile, he earned the goodwill of several fans and friends. However, he thanked his parents for being the rock of stability and support for him throughout the years.
Moreover, he also expressed gratitude to his wife, Dipika Pallikal, for delaying her career so they could go for walks together. Dipika is a squash player for India.
Dinesh Karthik participated in 26 Tests from 2004 to 2018. He scored 1025 runs at an average of 25. His great score was a century with 129 runs. Fans have expressed mixed emotions, including excitement and sadness that Indian Cricketer Dinesh Karthik retired.
